Matthew 14:-22-33
A storm is anything that can disturb, or disrupt the state of your usual, or normal lifestyle.
They come in different forms and sizes, at any time, without any previous notice.
A Storm is anything that can rattle and terrify you beyond your wits, yes they are usually more than what you know how to handle and resolve by yourself.
They are usually timed! Unpleasant, and unpredictable situations.
Timed?
Yes, you heard me right! Every storm has a specific time to either be conquered or to achieve its purpose of destroying the person at the receiving end.
Again, like I said before, every storm has an expiry date.
People of God! Stormy times are troubling and uncertain times. And that’s in part because they come with a blinding effect so much so that except you use your eyes of Faith you will not be able to see any way out.
Apostle Peter was a fisherman, he had been a fisherman all his life. He was not supposed to still be afraid of the sea since he was expected to know how to swim but, Peter was attempting to walk on water like his Lord but the storms was boisterous.
Peter started to sink the moment he removed his eyes from the Lord to peep at the troubled waters around him.
Was Peter not a professional fisherman? Was he not supposed to be used to water? Peter no doubt was a great fisherman but he was tested beyond his capacity. He could swim but walking on water was on another level.
But God was there and ready to make him walk on it so why was he still afraid of the raging waters around him?
Peter was afraid because his brain got on the way, his humanity got on the way. Everything he knew from his childhood screamed against him walking on water. Mortals don’t walk on water his brain said, unless they want to drown Peter.
Peter had forgotten that the LORD of lords was standing right there and that he was the one bidding him to come to Him.
Jesus Christ our Lord told us clearly in the gospel of Matthew that the storms of life will come to all. Every man and woman born into this world will experience some amount of storms whether they like it or not.
Matthew 7:24-27
they find a boat with their faith in God to weather their storms. They ride on their storms, come out stronger, nd shine bright in victory.
And just as Peter feared and began to sink, many of us do not remember the Lord Jesus with us during our storms. We are very quick to believe that we are in it alone but, that is not true. We are never alone.
The truth is that the storms of life will come to everyone but the person you know will go a long way to determine your outcome.
I have seen people who were told by the doctors that they had cancer and had a very short time to live who took their reports to God survive. They got healed when they took their storms to God.
There was this gorgeous sister that I met many years ago at a Prayer retreat. I had retreated there for personal prayers. She told me how she wanted to go do invitro fertilization because she had been married for years without any child but the Lord said, no. And sister said she was really surprised.
After some years she said she started planning again because they had money and she felt she was getting old, so why not?
But the LORD spoke again, and this time it was a warning, He warned her very strongly not to even dare because it will not work.He told her to seek Him & to wait for His time.
He made it clear to her that He was the only one who could solve this problem of infertility in her life. She came for a retreat to pray when we met & got talking after about a week of living together in that hostel.
he difference between this woman and those who just jump in without hearing anything from the Lord is as vast as the day is from the night.
